Hi, folks –
Just a quick note about two recent ES alums!
First, Danielle (Bates) Haulsee won best student talk award at the recent American Fisheries Society Meeting — Mid-Atlantic Chapter. It was her first conference presentation. The title of her talk was pretty cool:
“Incorporating Acoustic Telemetry, Satellites and Underwater Robots to Understand Fish Movements and Species Assemblages in the Mid-Atlantic Bight."
Second, Wendy (Dow) Piniak just defended her dissertation and received her PhD in sea turtle behavioral ecology from Duke University. She is starting a NOAA Knauss fellowship this month. Yahoo!
I hope that Danielle and Wendy will both be guest speakers in ES 306 Marine Ecology this spring!
Take care! – John
